Murder in Minneapolis
ICE agent shoots and kills 37-year-old mother.
Yesterday, an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother. In the video (see below), Good can be seen fleeing ICE agents in her vehicle in response to a less-than-inviting command: “Get out of the fucking car!” As she pulls away, obviously fearing for her safety, an agent justifies her fear by shooting her in the head. This was murder.
What happens now?
The agent who killed Good in cold blood has been whisked away. Where is he now? Being coached.
To understand how the DHS, ICE and Border Patrol handle killings like these, watch this recent podcast with Andrew Free, a researcher who focuses on immigration data, and Jenn Budd, a former Border Patrol agent and current immigrant rights activist. They discuss, among other things, the HBO Documentary Critical Incident, to which Budd contributed with her insight and research.
The documentary investigates the death of Anastasio Hernández Rojas, who was beaten and tased while in the custody of Border Patrol agents in 2010. The film examines the role of critical incident teams, which Budd refers to as cover-up teams. They were the de facto blueprint for ICE’s modus operandi. They never turn on their own, no matter what they’ve done.
Likewise, the Trump administration is circling the wagons. Trump said Good was “very disorderly, obstructing and resisting.” Even if that were true, does it warrant an automatic death sentence? Noem called it self-defense, but the video is clear to anyone who has ever driven a car: Good was trying to escape.
Why would they lie? They’re protecting an investment. The “Big Beautiful Bill” earmarked $170 billion for immigration enforcement, detention and deportation. Stephen Miller has a financial stake in ICE contractor Palantir, a clear conflict of interest. In other words, detention and deportation is big business, increasingly benefiting the private prison system as well as Trump appointees and members of the Trump administration.
What should happen now?
The ICE agent in question should be identified and tried for murder. There’s video evidence of his intent to harm and Good’s attempt to flee. He also did not follow standard operating procedures. Officers and agents are not supposed to fire into moving vehicles. It doesn’t take a ballistics expert to understand why. Imagine if there were children in the vehicle. Below is the murderer’s picture. Share it far and wide.
ICE must be abolished. It’s rotten to the core. They detain without cause, flout due process, harm immigrants and citizens alike with no consequences, and they do all of it anonymously, covering their faces and refusing to produce ID as a matter of course. While the latter isn’t a new practice, its villainous impact grows in proportion to the expansion of ICE.
This administration loves to claim that ICE is going after the bad guys, but such a claim becomes less defensible by the day. There are countless examples of law-abiding immigrants, permanent residents and U.S. citizens being detained and killed. Austin Kocher, a professor and researcher who specializes in immigration, provides context for those in detention through data, provided by ICE, mind you.
“…the growth in total number of detainers has been driven entirely by immigrants without criminal convictions. The total number of detainers issued for immigrants with criminal convictions each month is entirely flat…”
The deaths not talked about
Renee Nicole Good’s murder is a tragedy, but let’s not forget about the immigrants who languish and die in ICE detention, including the first ICE detention death of 2026: Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, a 42-year-old Honduran. He’s hardly alone. Andrew Free, who writes #DetentionKills, unearths a grim figure:
“At least forty-five immigrants have died in or immediately after their release to a hospital from GEO facilities, including four of the seven people who died in December 2025.”
Back in March, I argued that ICE had emerged as Trump’s gestapo. In August, I pointed out how they were serving as Trump’s personal paramilitary force. Today, it can no longer be denied, ICE is acting as domestic terrorists, able to kill with impunity.

Perfectly expressed, Pablo. There's no acceptable counter to a thing written here. No notes.
She had her life cut short unbelievably. Never forget
